Apart from Adrian in a "RX7 Thong"....

What's hot? I just bought and am TRYING to install a Oil and Water temperature gauge and I realised I didn't know what was hot? They both go up to 280 degrees. I want to twist the gauges so Normal is straight up and down.

anyone got good gauges, any ideas?

My water temp runs between 180 and 185 thats with an Autometer Pro-comp gauge. I don't have a oil temp gauge, I figure as long as I got oil pressure and reasonable water temp.

My car runs 180-190, depending on the thermostat. Hotter is better, according to the dyno. Don't know about oil, you'll probably have to see what it does on track and rotate it accordingly.

I think my water temp is about 180-190 or 185-195 for normal. As for HOT - I was right around 250-260 for a lap. I would stay away from that Shocked

I dont use oil temp either, I have a oil pressure gauge

For reference, I might not have completely trashed my engine if I had an oil temp gauge. As it was, by the time OP started going down it would've required tearing down. I'll be digging a vintage OT gauge out of a shelf and putting it in my car before it hits the track again. Mad

I think my water gets up to 220 at times and the oil up to 240. If I remember right, the Hahns told Carlo to make sure to stay under 230 and 250. I have the early radiator and oil cooler setup.
