Welcome to Texas Spec7
Home of the Texas SRX7 Road Race Series
Fun weekend. After finally figuring out the handling issues and getting them in order, I was able to drive the car normally. I took it fairly easy on Friday as I just wanted to feel the car out. Found I was down on power too. So finished 5th friday. On saturday Qualified 2nd behind Tony. I got bunched up at start going into turn 1 and Tony and Donato took high line and made it through. By the time I was through the cones, Donato and Tony were 5 car lengths or more ahead of me. I started to make up ground and then lost power again. Brought it in garage and found the wire on the lead coil terminal had come off. Oh well. still good weekend. We had 6 RX7's on Friday and 5 on Saturday.
Looking forward to Hallett.. who's all in
Congrats to Tony Lee for breaking Don Nay's long time TMS Race lap by one-tenth. I think Qualfying record was broken too, but SCCA website doesn't have qualifying times up. It was a good weekend, Buddy and I got the car back up to race mode after a couple year rest.
Yeah you're right Rob.
In Saturdays race Tony got a 1:42.567 ( I got a 1:42.748 damn it:(( ). But I got the qual record on Friday at 1:43.137
I STILL don't like that Tony Lee chappy!
Oops go tit wrong Friday qual record was a 1:43.222
Cheater Cheater Pumpkin Eater
Mylaps has Tony down for a 1:43.078 for Saturday Q, but has you on pole Friday with a 1:43.943? Is Mylaps off?
Sorry Lance that was still MY 1:43.222 :) on Friday
Just checked MYLAPS,
Looks like Saturday was right but Friday seems wrong/odd
Mmmmmm I'll need to check my timesheets when I get home.
You sure Tony didn't cut across the grass somewhere in the in field? :)
Ha! Not like he has never done that before. :) Makes me look slow as that was the exact same car I was 2 seconds off the pace at MSR. I'm sure Tony removed the 150 lbs. extra weight, rebuilt the junk yard motor, rebuilt the carb, and gave it an alignment since I drove it. ;)

Yeah looks like that sumbatch got both records on Saturday.
Qual : 1:43.078
Race : 1.42.567
SCCA / Mylaps are correct.
Thank god and congrats, I watched the race and it was a great one! Donato driving the old evil canevil car and tony going at it was great! Got to speak with Mike M. good to see all. Hope to see yall up north driving soon. I will be there in PTB hopefully chasing that guy from down under or who ever is in front of me Donny.
It was a combination of drafting ( It really does help.) and working hard to stay ahead of that Neon I knew he was the kiss of death..........if he ever got ahead infront of Donato and I
