Sebastian Vettel Q&A: A perfect lap - now I need a perfect start!
Having just taken his fourth pole position in a row, there is no doubting Sebastian Vettel's one-lap performance. While it's true that he's found it more difficult to convert those front-row starts into race wins, Vettel is confident that should all change in Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix. Considering the lead he had on Saturday over his team mate Mark Webber and the two Ferraris, few would disagree
Qualifying analysis - relentless Red Bull unbeatable in Budapest?
Nobody could hold a candle to Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel on Saturday in Hungary - not even team mate Mark Webber, who took a distant second to the German's dominant pole time. Together the duo look pretty invincible for Sunday's race, but there's no doubt Ferrari's Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa in third and fourth, and fifth-placed McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton will do all they can to stop Red Bull having it all their own way in Budapest. We take a team-by-team look at the pre-race form
FIA post-qualifying press conference - Hungary
Drivers: 1. Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull), 1m 18.773s; 2. Mark Webber (Red Bull), 1m 19.184s; 3. Fernando Alonso (Ferrari), 1m 19.987s
Q: Sebastian, 100th Grand Prix for Red Bull Racing. A front row lock-out and a commanding performance from yourself in qualifying.
Sebastian Vettel: Yeah, it was a very good day for us. All weekend here we felt very comfortable, from the first practice session onwards with the car. I think we were able to improve it again another bit overnight. I said on the radio to the boys 'this is your moment.' Mark and myself
Five-place grid penalty for Kobayashi
BMW Sauber's Kamui Kobayashi has been handed a five-place grid penalty for Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix by the Budapest race stewards, after he failed to enter the FIA garage to be weighed during qualifying on Saturday.
During practice and qualifying cars are called in at random to be weighed to ensure that they comply with minimum weight requirements (620kg).
Qualifying - selected team and driver quotes
Virgin's Timo Glock on setting the pace for the new teams after qualifying 19th; reigning world champion Jenson Button on failing to make it through to Q3 for McLaren; and Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel on clinching his fourth consecutive pole position. All 24 drivers, and senior team personnel, review Saturday's action at the Hungaroring
Qualifying - Vettel eases to Budapest pole for Red Bull
Sebastian Vettel was in a world of his own in qualifying as he thrust his Red Bull to a fastest time of 1m 18.773s, and his second-run lap of 1m 18.832s would have been sufficient to win him the pole too as team mate Mark Webber could not improve on his first effort of 1m 19.184s.
The only man to get anywhere near the Australian was Fernando Alonso with 1m 19.987s for Ferrari, then there was a big gap to Felipe Massa on 1m 20.331s in the other Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton who achieved McLaren's dream with a top five time, 1m 20.499s.
Final practice - Webber leads the Red Bull charge
Mark Webber dominated the final session of practice prior to Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying, finishing the hour 0.484s ahead of Red Bull team mate Sebastian Vettel whose final three efforts to unseat him came up short.
Webber's lap of 1m 19.574s struck terror into the hearts of rivals, and just to rub their noses in it, Vettel's lap of 1m 20.058s was itself seven-tenths clear of Fernando Alonso's 1m 20.724s for Ferrari...
Friday analysis - how much do Red Bull have in hand?
Red Bull's Friday pace around the Hungaroring looked ominous, even without an F-duct on the RB6 and regardless of tyre compound. Ferrari could have an answer, while McLaren admit they are a long way off an adequate response (and could come under threat from Renault on Saturday). We take a team-by-team look at early progress in Budapest
Sebastian Vettel Q&A: A very solid Friday
Leading the field by half a second is quite a statement, even if Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel does play down the importance of Friday's practice times. He has marked the Hungaroring as his territory for the weekend and now it is up to the rest to take it from him. After several Grands Prix when things have somehow slipped through his fingers, has the young German's time come again in Budapest?
In sickness and health - a year on from Felipe Massa's accident
McLaren's Lewis Hamilton may have won last year's Hungarian Grand Prix, but the 2009 event was dominated by the accident which befell Ferrari's Felipe Massa during qualifying. A year on, we look back at the events of the Budapest weekend, which would see Massa ruled out of the rest of the season, and evaluate the Brazilian's extraordinary return to top-flight racing.
Ahead of qualifying Massa had looked fairly comfortable in his Ferrari, clocking the seventh-fastest time in Saturday's final practice session, and as qualifying got underway he was equally swift. But during the closing moments of Q2, whilst running eighth, he suddenly speared off the track at Turn Four of the Hungaroring and ploughed straight into a tyre wall.
FIA Friday press conference - Hungary
Team principals: Eric Boullier (Renault), Stefano Domenicali (Ferrari), Christian Horner (Red Bull) and Colin Kolles (HRT).
Q: First of all, can we have a run-down of how things have gone today. Colin, would you like to start.
Colin Kolles: Well, we had some technical issues but we managed to go through the programmes. I think that Sakon (Yamamoto) did a good job. He drove almost the same lap time as Bruno (Senna)...
Exclusive Nico Rosberg Q&A: Schumacher's not such a beast
Mercedes GP's Nico Rosberg is in a perfect place. His first win might still be proving elusive, but his standing in the paddock has rocketed since he's been outperforming seven-time champion team mate Michael Schumacher. So, with the pressure off, when that maiden victory finally comes his way, he'll be ready for it
Friday practice - selected team and driver quotes
The morning session may have been dominated by the Red Bulls of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber, but by the afternoon the Ferraris of Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa had joined the fray at the front. The leading teams and their rivals reflect on their early progress in Budapest
Practice Two - Red Bulls split by Alonso
To begin with it was Red Bull team mates Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber who slogged it out for fastest time as the second free practice session got underway at the Hungaroring on Friday afternoon, but as the 90 minutes progressed Ferrari got into the act too, with Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa posting fast times.
In the end Vettel aced everyone with 1m 20.087s, which was 0.497s faster than Alonso's best of 1m 20.584s which just beat Webber's 1m 20.597s. Massa was fourth with 1m 20.986s.
Practice One - Red Bull out in front in Hungary
Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber looked to be in a world of their own round the Hungaroring on Friday morning in the opening practice session for the Hungarian Grand Prix.
They traded fastest times a second clear of their closest rivals, and ended the 90-minute session with Vettel fractionally ahead with 1m 20.976s to 1m 21.106s...
